Siam Society, which debuted in November or 2005 in the trendy Alberta Arts district. Its location - in a chic converted power substation with a large, inviting patio complete with heat lamps and lap blankets -- and its cuisine make it a standout!

Speaking of the Alberta Street area, my Dish of the Week, comes from Siam Society: Pan Seared Halibut in Green Curry topped with a red grape and mango relish. Wow! Great dish, crispy crunchy crust on the halibut, moist and perfectly cooked on the inside, placed into a bowl of terrific green curry, with bell peppers, red grapes, and mangos. It had a long finish that progressively built heat. Just great. The Massaman curry delivers a blow of complexity and flavor that will leave you stunned!

Siam Society Bistro & Bar has managed to stand out from the pack since opening it's doors!

Extreme delicious-ness in Thai happy hour food. Big city award-winning design in a lofty old power station; one of the coolest looks in portland (A perfect 10!)

Innovation & Creative Mavens - Siam society does for Thai cuisine what the Impressionists did for art: makes us consider it in new ways, in an utterly splendid space that's equal parts Beaux Arts and Industrial Revolution. Siam is, ahme, a bit more high-society than it's earthy cousins...ain't just dinner -- it's foreplay

POWER THAI!
